Farmworkers Deserve Better

The US Senate is working on a deal to pass the Farm Workforce Modernization Act (FWMA). This act would expand the notorious H2-A visa program and would effectively keep wages low for all farm workers. It would also deny work to the nation's undocumented farmworkers (which makes up about half of total farm workers), punishing the very people who put their lives on the line to keep the nation fed during the covid-19 pandemic. This is great news for large agribusiness corporations, but bad news for farmworkers. The Food Chain Workers Alliance is asking people to call their senators today to oppose the bill.
